A local Coracle builder taking a tourist on a trip across the Tiefi in  a handmade Coracle.

Coracles have been made in Wales for Centuries, traditionally they were made from willow shoots, woven together to make a frame, with this frame being covered with an animal skin, to produce a 'hull', a gunwale was then used to stretch the skin tight, and to apply pressure on the frame, therefore strengthening it.

You can see some examples of this ancient art, and even have a trip in one, accompanied by a local Coracle builder, one of the few left in this Country.

Also, in Cenarth is the Coracle Centre, which is to my knowledge, the only centre of it's kind in Wales (although I may be wrong), in this centre, can be found the complete history of the 'Celtic' coracle.

Proximity

The Coracle centre can be found in Cenarth near the bridge featured in the above photograph (more details can be given on arrival).
